문화는 인류의 사회적 행동에 관한 총체이고 역사는 한 사회의 문화기술지이며 콘텐츠는 그 내용물이다. 문화콘텐츠는 문화유산이라는 용어와의 혼용되어 쓰이기도 하며 과거로부터 전수되어온 유무형의 민족자산이라는 뜻을 가지고, 보호 및 계승되어야 할 잠재적인 문화재의 의미도 함께 가진다. 문화산업진흥법에서 규정한 문화콘텐츠의 정의에서는 디지털 기술을 바탕으로 한 OSMU의 지향을 의미하지만 문화유산의 의미를 내포한 본 고에서는 반두시 문화의 산업화 및 상품화를 전제로 하지는 않았다.
본 연구에서는 인간의 다양한 생활양식 중 보호 및 계승될 가치가 있는 유무형의 자산으로서 사람들과의 상호작용을 통해 끊임없이 변화하는 속성을 지닌 자산으로서 사람들과 상호작용을 통해 의미의 확장 또는 축소의 과정을 거치면서 끊임없이 변화하는 개념으로 문화콘텐츠를 정의한다. 고유성과 배타성 등을 특성으로 갖는 역사문화콘텐츠는 한 도시의 정체성 확보와도 유의미한 관계를 가지고 있다는 점에서 중요하다. 또한 역사문화콘텐츠는 국가적으로 봤을 때 문화의 다양성을 인정하며 도시문화의 발굴, 도시 경제의 활성화 등에도 기여하며 일상문화를 더욱 풍요롭게 만든다.
본 연구에서는 우선 연구의 배경과 목적 및 연구의 공간적 범위, 연구의 내용을 살펴본다. 이론적 배경에서는 역사문화콘텐츠의 개념과 범주를 살펴본 뒤 도시정체성의 개념과 요소를 파악한다. 이를 바탕으로 제3절에서는 역사문화콘텐츠와 도시정체성의 관계성에 대해 고찰한다.
제3장에서는 진주시의 도시정체성과 역사문화콘텐츠에 대해 고찰한다. 역사적 맥락에서의 진주시의 정체성을 살펴보기 위해 선사시대부터 시작된 진주시의 역사문화를 현대에 이르기까지 모두 살펴보며, 이를 통해 진주시의 역사적 맥락에서의 문화콘텐츠의 정의를 살펴본다. 이를 통해 역사문화콘텐츠와 진주시의 정체성에 대해서도 확인한다.
진주시의 정체성을 드러낼 수 있는 콘텐츠는 인물, 공간, 사건으로 분류하여 살펴본다. 먼저 인물에는 여러 인물들이 있겠으나 본 연구에서는 논개, 김시민, 조식을 중심으로 역사문화콘텐츠의 특성을 파악한다. 공간으로는 진주성을 살펴보며 사건으로는 형평운동을 고찰한다. 이를 통해 진주시 정체성을 형성하는 역사문화콘텐츠의 가치 지향점을 네 가지로 나눈다. 이는 역사‧전통적 가치, 문화‧예술적 가치, 경제‧산업적 가치, 경관‧자연적 가치로 분류된다. 이러한 가치지향점은 역사문화콘텐츠의 해석과 재해석에 의미를 부여하며 더욱 풍요로운 스토리텔링을 가능하게 한다는 점에서 도시정체성의 형성에 많은 영향을 미치기 때문에 이러한 분석이 유의미하다고 볼 수 있다. 이를 통해 진주시의 도시정체성 형성 요소로서의 진주시의 역사문화콘텐츠 특성을 파악하며 도시의 고유성을 인문학적 관점에서 파악한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Culture is the whole of human social behavior, history is the culture and technology of a society, and content is its content. Cultural contents are used interchangeably with the term cultural heritage, and they mean the national or international nature inherited from the past, and have the meaning of potential cultural assets to be protected and inherited. Although the definition of cultural contents stipulated in the Cultural Industry Promotion Act means the orientation of OSMU based on digital technology, this study, which implies the meaning of cultural heritage, did not presuppose the industrialization and commercialization of the culture of city.
In this study, as an internal and external asset that is worth protecting and inheriting from various lifestyles of human beings, it interacts with people and interacts with people as an asset with constantly changing attributes. And defines culture contents as a constantly changing concept. Historical and cultural contents that have unique characteristics such as uniqueness and exclusiveness are important in that they have a meaningful relationship with the securing of a city's identity. In addition, historical and cultural contents recognize the diversity of culture when viewed nationally, contribute to the exploration of urban culture, the activation of urban economy, and enrich everyday culture.
The background and purpose of the research, the spatial scope of the research, and the contents of the research are examined. In the theoretical background, the concept and the category of the history cultural contents are examined, and the concept and the element of the urban identity are grasped. Based on this, Section 3 discusses the relationship between historical and cultural contents and urban identity.
Chapter 3 discusses urban identity and historical and cultural contents of Jinju city. In order to examine the identity of Jinju City in the historical context, we will examine the history and culture of Jinju City, which started from prehistoric times, and examine the definition of cultural contents in the historical context of Jinju City. It also confirms the historical and cultural contents and the identity of Jinju City.
Content that can reveal the identity of Jinju City is classified into people, space, and events. First of all, there are many characters in the characters, but in this study, the characteristics of historical and cultural contents are analyzed by focusing on Nongeo, Kimsimin and Josik. We look at the pearl nature as a space and consider the equality movement as an event. Through this, we divide the value oriented point of historical and cultural contents that form the identity of Jinju city into four. It is divided into historical and traditional values, cultural and artistic values, economic and industrial values, and landscape and natural values. This value orientation is significant because it gives meaning to the interpretation and reinterpretation of historical and cultural contents and enables richer storytelling, which has a great influence on the formation of urban identity. The purpose of this study is to grasp the characteristics of the historical and cultural contents of Jinju city as the urban identity formation factor of Jinju city and to grasp the uniqueness of the city from the viewpoint of humanities.
