조선시대 사대부(士大夫) 문학에 대한 여러 연구는 철학적 모색을 거치지 않은 채 교육의 현장에 그대로 적용되어 비평 및 감상의 중요 관점으로 자리잡고 있는데 이는 시급히 수정되어야 할 과제이다.
고전문학에 있어 가장 보편적 소재를 다루었으며 가장 완성된 자연 찬미의 노래를 구사했다는 고산 윤선도 문학을 철학적으로 접근하는 일은 윤선도에 대한 실질적 비평이 될 수 있을 뿐만아니라 철학과 문학의 만남이라는 면에서 중요하다.
윤선도 문학의 바탕은 자연이며 이는 동양적 자연관에 그 근간을 이룬다고 볼 수 있다. 동양적 자연관은 인간과 밀접한 생명의 세계로서의 자연이며 현실과 관련한 자연이다. 윤선도 문학에서는 이러한 자연의 모습이 <있는 그대로의 자연>과 <현실반영을 위한 자연>, 그리고 <이상적 세계를 표현하는 자연>과 <조화와 질서의 자연>으로 나타난다.
이렇게 살펴보았을 때 파악되는 것은 윤선도의 자연이 일반적으로 평가되어버린 강호가도(江湖歌道)의 자연이 아니라는 사실이다. 현실적·실존적 사고에 바탕을 둔 철학적 분석을 통해 윤선도의 자연관은 변화하였으며 결국 공허(空虛)한 울림이 아닌, 자연 은거(隱居)의 도피만이 아닌 상대적(相對的)으로 현실에 대한 적극적(積極的) 참여로 파악되어야 한다.
또한 윤선도 문학에 있어서의 시간은 직선적 시간관이 아니라 순환적 시간이다. 이를 <어부사시사>를 통해 살펴보면 순환적 시간의 구조가 작품 전체를 지배하는 형식으로 되어 있음을 알 수 있다. 큰 틀의 시간과 아주 작은 틀의 시간, 그리고 작품을 진행시키면서 이어주는 구실을 하는 렴(斂)을 통해 외부의 현상적 시간과 작품 내적인 시간이 유기적으로 결합되어 있음을 알 수 있다. 이러한 유기적(有機的) 구조와 내용을 통하여 윤선도 문학은 예술적 아름다움을 획득하면서 의미의 확장(擴張)을 통한 영원성을 지향(指向)하게 되는 것이다.
이러한 연구를 통해 지금까지의 문학에 대한 감상과 이해에 있어 각종의 비평론이나 관점론이 작가와 그 소재에 대한 철학적 모색이 없이 한 편으로 치우친 비평과 접근의 방법을 고집함으로써 범한 작품의 분명한 이해에 대한 소외와 가치 손상을 조금이나마 개선할 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study about the literature of the officials of Cho Sun Dynasty were applied into the educational field without philosophical groping, it has taken place as the significant point of view in terms of criticism, which requires urgent revision. This problem must urgently be corrected. Gosan Yoon Seon-Do's literature dealt with the most general theme in classical literature and praised nature in his songs with the most complete form in its style. A philosophical approach on GoSan Yoon Seon-Do's literature could not only be the practical criticism of Yoon Seon-Do, but the encounter of philosophy and literature as well, which makes this study more important.
The bases of Yoon Seon-Do's literature is nature. One can see this is formed by oriental naturalism. Yoon's nature is the world of life intimate with human, also the one related to reality. In Yoon Seon-Do's literature this feature of nature appears as a nature as it is, a nature for reflection of real life, a nature for the expression of ideal and a nature of harmony and order.
Observing it this way, we can grasp the fact that nature in Yoon Seon-Do's literature is not something that has been commonly referred to valued as 'Gang-Ho-Ga-Do'. Yoon Seon-Do's view of nature changed by philosophical analysis based on actual existence. In the end, it must be understood not as an echo of emptiness nor as a natural hideout but relatively as a positive participation of reality.
Moreover, time in Yoon Seon-Do's literature does not exist lineally but in a circular view. Examining it through <Uh-Boo-Sa-Si-Sa>, one can see that the circular time structure dominates the whole piece of work. The actual state of time of the exterior and the internal time of the production is combined together systematically. This can be known through the refrain which proceeds and connects the production and the time of the large and small frame. Usage of such organic contents and structure, literature of Yoon's obtains artistic beauty and aspires eternity by enlarging the meaning.
Through this study, it will be possible to redeem understanding and devaluation on Yoon's literature that has been made by several studies which adhered to unilateral critique without philosophical consideration.
