18세기 남성 문인의 문집에 나타난 여성에 관한 기록은 기본적으로 1) ``여성``에 관한 ``남성의 기록``이라는 것과 2) ``죽은 여성``을 ``추모``하는 글이라는 성격을 지닌다. 그런데 여성의 실제 경험은 남성이 기억해낸 그 삶의 내용과는 다를 가능성이 있다. 따라서 이를 통해 살필 수 있는 것은 여성 삶의 실상이라기보다, 남성사대부의 여성인식이 될 것이다. 또한 대상으로 하는 기록은 죽은 이를 추모하는 성격의 글이 대부분이므로, 이를 통해 살아있는 이가 친밀한 이들의 죽음을 통해 기억하고 강화하고 싶었던 지점이 무엇이었는지를 가늠해볼 수 있다. 18세기 문인 이덕수의 경우 어머니나 아내를 떠올리면서 꺼내는 애도의 언어에는 그가 가정이라는 공간에서 꿈꾸었던 여성의 이미지와 연관되어 있다. 그가 여성을 드러내는 방식은 양식화된 전범과는 거리가 있으며 여성에 대한 평가 역시 일반적인 여성 칭송의 어법과는 다르게 표현하고 있다. 그는 효성스러운 딸의 ``총명함``을 더 주목했고, 따르기만 하는 아내보다 이끌어주는 인도자로서의 아내를 동경했으며, 한 집안의 가장으로 친척과 이웃에게 칭송받는 어머니의 존재를 부각했다. 이덕수가 기억해낸 여성에는 분명 그가 바랐던 명민하고 강인한 여성의 모습이 투영되었다고 보인다. 그렇지만 일방적이고 제한적인 개인의 기억이 정서적 충족감을 넘어 다음 세대에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 담론으로 작동하기 위해서는 남성과 여성의 기억의 교환과 공유가 중요한 역할을 하리라고 본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The records regarding the woman who appears in the collection of works of literary man in the 18th century are basically with the fact that 1) it is a recording of the male regarding woman, 2) which cherishing the memory of a deceased women. However the actual experience of the woman may be different with the memory which male carries through. It will reach consequently which not the real image of woman life but the woman recognition of the male illustrious official. Also recording which it does in the object mostly that cherishes memory. therefore it is possible to see what these people wanted to remembers and strengthen by these records. a literary man in the 18th century, Ducksoo－Lee(李德壽)`s lamentation is related to the image of woman that he dreamed. The method where he distinguishes the woman pattern which is formulated and the evaluation regarding the woman is different as well. He paid not attention to the daughter is devoted to her parents but to the ``bright`` daughter. And he has longing for the wife lead him, not the obedient wife. And then he emphasized the mother who is praised the existence as a head of a family, of one household the relative and in the neighborhood. Ducksoo-Lee(李德壽)`s memory reflect the sagacious woman who has tough spirit. It is necessary that the one sided and restricted individual the memory go over the hazard which operates in the discussion which is the possibility effect of going mad to the next generation the exchange and joint ownership of memory of the male who stands and the woman are important role it sees.
