강원지역의 실학사상은 일찍부터 경세사상의 측면에서 형성되어 갔다. 그리고 그 특징은 출발점에서부터 儒學의 爲民政治 곧 王道政治의 정신에 토대를 두고 형성되어 나갔다고 평가될 수 있다. 그 점은 구체적으로 이 글에서 고찰된 바와 같이 元天錫, 李珥, 金昌一, 金世濂의 사상에서 확인된다. 특히 韓百謙은 實事求是의 학풍의 선구적 역할을 해 주고 있기도 하다. 즉 韓百謙은 역사지리학적인 고증과 비판을 가하는데 있어서도 스스로의 기준을 세워 놓고 합리적인 방법으로 학문탐구를 진행하고 있다. 그의 학문적 태도는 문헌과 사실에 입각한 비판과 주장이어야 함을 역설한다. 이러한 학문적 태도가 바로 韓百謙의 실시구시적인 학문관으로서 실학의 한 특징인<實事求是>의 학풍인 것이다. 그런 점에서 우리는 그를 실사구시의 학풍을 金正熙(1786-1856, 字元春, 號阮堂 혹은 秋史 등)에 앞서서 주도해간 학자로 평가될 수 있는 것이다.
결론적으로 강원유학의 경세관은 耘谷元天錫과 栗谷李珥의 위민정신에 뿌리를 두고 발전해가서 士寒의 金昌一의 왕도정치의 정신, 東溟金世濂의 정신으로 이어졌고, 그러한 강원실학의 정신은 愼懋 의 위민적인 경세관을 바탕으로 星湖李瀷과 磻溪柳馨遠의 경세치용의 정신으로 전개되어 나갔다

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In Gangwon Province, scholars of the Sirhak(實學) or "Practical Studies" school were concerned, to a considerable extent, with statecraft. This characteristic of the school, it can be argued, developed from the Confucian tradition of "governing on behalf of the people(爲民政治), and the "Kingly Way" (王道). This can be seen from the writings of Won Cheonseok, Yi I, Kim Chang-il and Kim Se-gyeom.
Indeed, another Confucian from Gangwon Province, Han Baek-gyeom, played a pioneering role in the establishment of the Sil-sa-gu-si (實事求是) school within Sir-hak(實學). For instance, he employs rational methods, organized according to criteria set by himself, in his critical investigations of historical geography. Indeed, one may argue that he opened the way for later scholars of the Sil-sa-gu-si school, such as Kim Jeong-heui(1786-1856).
Finally, Gangwon Confucianist views of statecraft originated with the scholarship of Won Cheonseok and Yi I (Yulgok), who believed that government should exist for the benefit of the people. This attitude to statecraft was further developed by Kim Changil who discussed the " Kingly Way"- and by Kim Segyeom.
