      Amitabha buddha is Budda that is lecturing in west bure Land present. Even if see that the sutras that is related Amitabha buddha and Pure Land occupies 1/3 degree totally, can guess how much about the aspect of Amitabha buddha prevailed.
      『Sukhavativyuha Sutra』·『Amitayur Budha Dhyana Sutra』·『Sukhanvati Vyuha Sutra』 that handled Amitabha buddha among ohter more than 300 are called as 『The Three Pure Land Sutras』and are realized as Amitabul's typical sutras. Specially, 『Sukhanvati Vyuha Sutra』 is presenting iconographical basis by dramatic contents unfolding.
      With Buddhism transmission, Amitabha Faith that entered our country did not develop by Pure Land Creed. But, on the verge of death, it brought into fashion regardless of any sect by the ideology of Amitabha that comes to greet if pray to Buddha everybody.
      When it become Koryo period, accomplished development of Buddhism deciding Buddhism as national religion, however, in the end of Koryo period, due to the abuse hat monks took part in politics, Buddism was oppressed in the era of lee Dynasty. As Buddhism was oppressed, influence was dwindled fairly, but Buddhism was oppressed, influencewas dwindled fairly, but Buddhism business was continued for private reason of Royal House persons. Amitabha painting's form that was painted in our country was based on 『Amitayurdhyana Sutra』 and there was Amitabha painting that drawn amitabha only and amitahba triad that had kwanum Buddhisattva and Mahasthamaprapta. And as peculiar form of only our country, in the end of Goryo, as Malbub ideology and Esoteric Buddhism are amalgamated in Buddhism concepting, there was Amitabha with eight great boddhisattvas. That was based on 『oooooooo』, that is Esoteric Buddhism sutras. Also, there is the Paintings of the Paradaise of Amitabha laying stress on 『Amitayurdhyana sutra』's contents.
      When Chosun era was devided into Pre-Chosun and Post-Chosun via Japanese invasion of Chosun in 1592, Amitabha painting accomplished about 30 paintings found until present. It has grasped the icon with these 30 points of work and recognized about the change and succession of Amitabha painting form of Koryo and Choson in this treatise. As cleared in front, Chosun era professed suppression policy of Buddhism though, but Buddhism business was connected continually laying stress on queen consort and harem of royal family. Therefore, like Koryo era, excellent paintings manufactured much with priority given to royal family. Buddhist Paintings of the Royal House creates new form inheriting tradition of Koryo era, representative work is golden hanging scroll painting. Golden hanging scroll painting influenced to Buddhist painting of people and Buddhism-painting in the common people appeared drawing white-line.
      At Chosun era, Buddhism painting manufacture were made up vigorously in the common people who had economic strength, buddhist painting of people formed only other own world differing with Buddhist paintings of royal family thereby. Buddhist paintings of royal family made Buddhism painting on the matrial of silk fabrics continuing the tradition of Koryo era, however, buddhist painting of people produced Buddhism painting that was drawn on the matrial of hemp cloth. But, to take into consideration that huge expense cost was neede to manufacture Buddhism painting, in case of buddhist painting of people, several painters taken its rise together was most rather than an individual painter of a person did.
      When buddhism believer's number decreased by suppression policy of Buddhism, the necessity that Buddhism association explains Buddhism doctrine more easily was occurred, the paintings of the paradise of Amitabha made Dragon Ship with Amitabha Buddha to Greet the souls that emphasized contents only. Dragon Ship with amitabha Buddha to Greet the Souls was a small part of the paintings of the paradise of Amitabha in the early term of Chosun, gradually the influence became magnified, the significance that occupied in desplay become bigger, it was drawn to seperate subject such as Dragon ship with Amitabha buddha to Greet the Souls. Meanwhile, by situation of Chosun era that memorial service for filial piety and the deads was leitmotif, Amitabha Coming to Greet the Dead Soul painting was decreased quite much, and Dharma desana painting was decreased quite much, and dharma desana painting started to add in Nahan of four deva kings too from the existing standardized composition that named Amitabha, Amitabha with eight great boddhisattvas.
