창원은 천여 년 동안 많은 문인들이 최치원을 자취를 찾아와 흠모 한시로 남기고 있는 지역이다. 이 글은 최치원을 흠모하는 고려‧조선시대 문인들의 한시를 대상으로 삼았다. 특히 창원지...

창원은 천여 년 동안 많은 문인들이 최치원을 자취를 찾아와 흠모 한시로 남기고 있는 지역이다. 이 글은 최치원을 흠모하는 고려‧조선시대 문인들의 한시를 대상으로 삼았다. 특히 창원지역을 중심으로 다루고 있는 흠모 한시에 대해 소개하고 그 특성을 살펴보고자 했다. 이에 글쓴이는 흠모 한시에서 최치원을 어떠한 존재로 표상하고 있는지, 관련 장소를 어떻게 형상화하고 있는지를 짚어보았다. 아울러 최치원을 추앙하는 까닭과 그 의미는 무엇인지를 따져보았다.
첫째, 최치원에 대한 인물 표상은 흠모 한시 속에서 신격화 또는 인격화되어 나타나고 있다. 신격화된 표상으로 ‘유선, 신선, 선인, 선, 선옹’ 등의 표현을 찾을 수 있고, 인격화된 표상으로 ‘학사, 선비, 선생, 현재, 인재, 재걸, 영웅’ 그리고 ‘고운, 해운, 문창후’ 등과 같은 표현을 들 수 있다. 이를 통해 후세 문인들은 최치원을 어떤 존재로서 흠모되고 있는지를 알 수 있었다.
둘째, 흠모 한시는 대개 최치원 관련 유적을 중심으로 형상화되고 있었다. 최치원과 관련된 창원의 유적 가운데 대표적인 것으로 월영대와 고운대를 꼽을 수 있다. 그런 점에서 한시에 형상화된 월영대와 고운대는 최치원의 유적에 머물지 않고 오랜 시기에 걸쳐 많은 문인들이 최치원을 떠올리는 친밀 공간으로 자리잡고 있었다. 이를 통해 최치원과 관련된 창원의 유적들에 대해 이해할 수 있었고, 이것이 어떻게 형상화되고 있는지를 확인할 수 있었다.
셋째, 최치원 흠모 한시는 일반적으로 최치원의 유적지를 탐방하면서 지은 장소시의 일종이었다. 그런 까닭에 한시 세계는 최치원의 인물 흠모와 장소 예찬, 그리고 개인 서정 등으로 표현되고 있었다. 이를테면 후대의 문인들은 최치원의 삶과 학덕, 그리고 그가 남긴 자취를 바탕으로 흠모의 정서를 한시 속에 담아내고 있는 것이다. 이를 통해 후세 문인들이 창원을 찾은 동기와 감회 그리고 최치원에 대한 흠모의 깊이를 짐작할 수 있었다.
이렇듯 최치원의 삶과 활동은 후대의 많은 문인들에게도 공감대를 형성하고, 창원이라는 장소에 대한 특별한 애착과 의미 부여가 지속적으로 이루어졌다. 이로써 최치원 흠모 한시들은 추상적이고 물리적인 공간을 여러 사람이 공감하고 재생산할 수 있는 장소로 거듭나게 하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Changwon found many the literary to trace Choi Chi-won in a thousand years and was the area leaving as adoring Chinese poem. This article would consider Chinese poem of the literary in Koryo․Joseon period on adoring Choi Chi-won. In particular, I want to introduce adoring Chinese poem covering around the area of Changwon and want look at characteristics those traits. This writer examined an adored one at any elegant table, Choi Chi-won as the embodiment of how to existence and how to visualize the related place. Besides, because looked up to Choi Chi-won, I saw what he meant these.
First of all, character representation on Choi Chi-won was appeared apotheosis or personification in adoring Chinese poem. There were confucian hermit, an immortal, god man as a apotheosis and BA, sunbee, talents, gouon, Munchanghu as a personification. This allows the bookman after years to Choi Chi-won as exist which I was able to know and adore.
Secondly, adoring Chinese poem are usually centered, They had becomed the embodiment around of relating remains of Choe Chi Won. Among the ruins of Changwon Wolyoungdae and Gouondae were associated with representative Choi Chi-won. In that respect, manifestating Wolyoungdae and Gouondae in Chinese poem remains of Choi Chi-won rather than intimate space on Choi Chi-won across many literary for a long period.
Third, adoring Chinese poem of Choi Chi-won was exploring the historic sites and a place poetry. That being so, Chinese poem word represented by adoring and glorifying, personal lyric and place the figures. In other words, after a life, the science and the statement contained in Chinese poem on base living life, learning and virtue, traces of Choi Chi-won.
Through their, we surmised the adoring depth of about Choi Chi-won, motivation and moving seeking for Changwon after a writer. As such, many of the life and activity of Choi Chi-won formed a consensus statement of posterity also and Changwon, a special soft spot and means for the place have done on an ongoing. This truth, It was confirming a poem that adoring Chinese poem of Choi Chi-won is abstract and physical space for several people to share places and to reproduce places.
