茶山丁若鏞은 조선 실학의 완성자로 알려져 있으며, 退溪李滉과 栗谷李珥 이후 조선 성리학의 새로운 개척한 인물이다. 그의 사상은 經學과 經世學의 두 분야로 대별되며, 경학은 朱子의 四書集註에 대한 비판과 원시유학에 대한 관심을 통하여 새로운 학설을 주장하였으며, 경세학은 민본주의의 입장에서 기술되어있다. 본고에서는 다산학의 여러 분야 중 체육철학적 관점에서 그의 신체관과 수양론을 살펴보고, 그 체육철학적 의미를 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 그의 많은 저서 가운데, 『心經密驗』을 택하고 이를 구체적으로 분석함으로써 위의 세 가지 문제에 접근 하고자 하였다. 다산이 『심경밀험』을 통하여 그의 身體觀을 神·形·身의 관계 속에 파악하였으며, 또한 性嗜好說에 있어서 신체의 문제를 어떻게 이해할 수 있는지를 규명하였다. 또 修養論은 心性의 문제와 誠의 개념을 통하여 분석하였으며, 이러한 문제 속에 함축된 신체의 수련에 대하여 논하였다. 끝으로 이러한 작업을 통하여 체육철학의 입장에서 다산의 심신관 수양론이 지닌 함의와 현대체육철학에 있어서 다산의 心身修養論이 지닌 의의에 대하여 고찰하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Dasan Jeong Yakyong(茶山丁若鏞, 1762-1836) was renowned for integrator of Silhak, Realist School of Confucianism in the Joseon dynasty. He was a new pioneer in Joseon Confucianism after Toegye Yihwang(退溪李滉, 1501~1570) and Yulgok Ii(栗谷李珥, 1536~1584). His thought can be classified roughly into two fields, Confucian classics and statecraft. His Confucian classics asserted a new theory through the criticism for Zhu Xi(朱熹, 1130-1200)`s Sishujizhu(四書集註) and his interest in original Confucianism. His statecraft was described in the stance of democracy. This paper considers Dasan`s viewpoint of body and self-cultivation among his various fields and investigates its meaning in the angle of physical education philosophy. For this study, I selected 「Simgyeongmilheom(心經密驗)」 among his many books and analyzed the book concretely in order to approach the aforesaid problems. This paper figured out Dasan`s viewpoint of body in the relations of sprit(神)· form(形)·body(身) through 「Simgyeongmilheom」 and inquired into the way how can understand the problem of body from his theory of nature preference(性嗜好說). And I analyzed self-cultivation through the problem of mind nature(心性) and the concept of sincerity(誠), then I discussed the training of body implicit in these problems. Lastly I inquired into the implication of his viewpoint of mind and body and self-cultivation from the point of physical education philosophy. And I studied the meaning of Dasan`s self-cultivation theory of mind and body in terms of modern physical education philosophy.
