다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

· Research topics: <You and Me> is recognized as the largest propaganda film in the Japanese colonial era. The reasearch notes how the integration of the colonies and Korea-Japan cooperation in the 1940s deepened the awareness of the Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere, and studies the characteristics of <You and Me> and its intention, while focusing on the background of the film that was the first debut film of Heo Young (許泳, 1908-1952, or Hinatsu Eitaro in Japanese), and that was also produced before the Japanese national film began.
· Research background: Under the Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere, Japan produced many national propaganda films to mobilize Koreans for the war and to purify their ideology. The 24 minutes clips of the <You and Me> and its script were found in 2000, they have made possible to study the various aspects of propaganda films during the colonial period.
· Differences from prior research: The study focuses to the relationship and the cooperation in detail in order to produce and support for the film <You and Me>, and the study also focuses on the various elements that used in order to break free from the tedious limitations of propaganda films, such as musical aspects that did not appear in the screenplay, visual languages at the beginning, and appearances of stars and governors of Joseon and Manchuria.
· Research method: Based on the version restored by 'Korea Film Archive' and the 'Jecheon International Music and Film Festival' and the scenario discovered in 2000s, the study intends to explore the possibility of multifaceted research, while obtaining materials on the film production and the process of special appearance.
· Research results: In order to understand the concrete relationship between Korea and Japan in the 1940s’ national propaganda films, the research focused on the intention in depth, various directing techniques and casts through the analysis of images and the scenario.
· Contribution points and expected effects: <You and Me> made it possible to study various aspects of colonial Joseon's films in the 1940s, which belonged to the late Japanese colonial period in Korean film history. In particular, the background that it became Heo Young's first debut film, and special appearances such as Manyeong's representative star "Li Xianglan" and "Kim Jung-gu," who do not appear in the scenario, and the aspect that appeared political figures such as "Minami Jiro" and "Itagaki Seishiro," the head of the Joseon Army, this study will be basis for continuing research in the future from the perspective of the Greater East Asian Film Sphere.

· 연구 주제: <그대와 나>는 일제시대 최대 규모의 선전영화로 인식되고 있는 작품이다. 대동아공영권(大東亞共榮圈)의 슬로건 아래 1940년대 내지를 중심으로 한 외지(식민지)의 통합과 한일 협력이 대동아공영권에 대한 인식을 어떻게 심화시켜 나갔는지에 대해 주목하고, 일본의 국책영화가 본격화되기 전 허영(許泳, 1908-1952, 필명 히나쓰 에이타로·日夏英太郎)이 기획하고 감독한 첫 데뷔작이 된 배경에 주목하여 1940년대 이 영화가 가지는 특징과 제작의도를 연구하였다.
· 연구 배경: 일제는 대동아공영권의 슬로건 아래 조선인의 전쟁동원과 사상 순화를 위하여 많은 국책선전영화를 제작하였다. <그대와 나>는 2000년 이후 24분의 보존필름과 시나리오가 발견되어 식민지 시기의 선전영화에 대한 다양한 연구가 가능해졌다.
· 선행연구와의 차이점: 1940년대 선전 영화 <그대와 나>의 구체적 지원과 협력관계에 주목하였다. 대중성 확보를 위해 시나리오에는 나타나지 않은 음악영화적 요소와 도입부의 영상언어 그리고 조선과 만주의 스타와 조선총독의 출연 등 당시 선전영화와의 지루한 한계를 탈피하고자 대중성 확보에 주력한 점을 살폈다.
· 연구방법: ‘한국영상자료원’과 ‘제천국제음악영화제’의 복원영상본과 2000년대 이후 발굴된 시나리오, 당시 일본잡지 기사 등을 토대로 일제말기 국책 선정영화의 영화제작 및 특별출연 과정에 대한 자료 확보와 함께 다각적 연구의 가능성을 타진하고자 하였다.
· 연구결과: 1940년대 국책선전 영화의 한일 협력관계의 구체화를 파악하기 위해 영상자료와 시나리오 분석에서 심층적 제작의도와 다양한 연출기법과 출연진을 확인하였다.
· 공헌점 및 기대효과 : <그대와 나>를 통해 일제말기인 1940년대 식민지 조선의 한국영화사에 대한 다각도 연구가 가능해졌다. 특히 허영(許泳)감독의 첫 데뷔작이 될 수 있었던 배경과 한일 스타급 출연진과 시나리오 상에 나타나지 않는 만영의 대표스타 ‘리샹란’(李香’蘭)’과 조선악극단 최고의 가수 ‘김정구’ 등의 특별출연 외에 정치적 인물로 ‘미나미 지로’(南次郎) 조선총독과 조선군사령부 대장 ‘이타가키 세이시로’(板垣征四郎)까지 출연할 정도였다는 점 등은 대동아영화권이라는 시각에서 향후 지속적 연구의 토대가 될 것이다.
