      The purpose of this study is to draw up a plan of the effective teaching skills for essay writing, focused on the Yeonam Park Ji-won's classical literature.
      In the knowledged information-society, modern people communicates through variety media and takes an active part in the social problems with subjectivity.
      Therefore, the learners who lead the future view that they need a learning methods which develop the creative problem-solving skills approaching the problems critically by experiencing the decision-making process with others and improve thinking from self directed learning.
      School can be a place where educates the various subjects systematically, with the optimum conditions for teaching a wide range of text such as an essay.
      It can be one of expedient to use many extra-curricular knowledge for teaching combined curriculum essay.
      The teaching text of combined curriculum essay should provide the learner's ability and interests, educational value as essay and the issues which can get away with stereotype.
      This study selects the novels of 'Yeonam' Park Ji-won which develop the critical thinking considering the rate of essay-type test and the characteristics of the learners who are actual object itself.
      In the novels of 'Yeonam' Park Ji-won, especially <Heosaeng-jeon>, <Yangban-jeon>, <Hojil> express the philosophically critical mind about the objects and human-being through satirical expression and the open ending structure let the learners imagine so that it helps to think creatively.
      ChapterⅠexplains the purpose, needs, object and the methods of this study and chapter Ⅱ searched for the effective essay teaching skills in the real classroom bia the relationship of essay teaching and combined teaching of reading and writing, also the relationship of classical novels and essay teaching after analyzing whole theory, current situation, problems and alternative of the essay teaching based on the precedent study.
      A subject consciousness and the issues are found via analyzing the text such as 'Yeonam' Park Ji-won's <Heosaeng-jeon>, <Yangban-jeon>, <Hojil> which are having critical consciousness in chapter Ⅲ.
      ChapterⅣ is aimed at studying effective essay teaching skills in the real class using media, text and essay teaching models.
      One of the most important facts from this study is that the learners can analyze the point by communicating from the text, and provide the model that solve the problem creatively by critical thinking after finding the reason of an argument using various media.
      The other one is to find a possibility that if this process actually works in the real class.
      As the importance of Essay is rising, the former one can be important due to the fact that it is effectively showing the critical consciousness of the subject using the complicated relationship of the media. However, the latter one have a limitation not to apply in the real classroom so that it did not work out to find the problem of this study.
      The significant point of this study is to apply the essay teaching models in the literature class which can only deliver the contents of the text itself, so that the learners can develop the thinking skills bia various media.
      Furthermore, the essay teaching skills in the real classroom from this study expected to help the substance of the public education since the essay is very connected to the university entrance examination which is the reason private education is expedited.
